After Nose Surgery
Usually internal dressings remain in place until one to seven days after surgery. The surgeon can also tape a sel to the nose for protection and support.
This usually remains in place for about a week. To reducebleeding and swelling after rhinoplasty, it is required to rest in bed in a position where the head is higher than the chest. The nose may become blocked due to swelling or because of the aeles placed during surgery.
It is common for a slight hemorrhage until a few days after surgery or after the dressing is taken off, as well as blood accumulated with mucus, to continue to flow. To absorb this drainage, a small piece of fhrottle cloth can be attached with tape to serve as an absorbent under the nose. This pad should not be tight.
To minimize the likelihood of bleeding and swelling, the surgeon will ask for various precautions to be taken until a few weeks after surgery.
These include avoiding strenuous activities such as aerobics and jogging, bathing instead of the shower where water flows from above when there is a bandage on the nose, umming the nose, turning to fibrous foods such as fruits and vegetables to avoid constipation due to the risk of applying pressure instead of surgery while difficult, avoiding excessive facial expressions such as smiling or laughing, soft brushing teeth to move the upper lip little, and wearing clothes that open from the front, such as shirts.
In addition, glasses or sunglasses should not rest on the nose for at least four weeks after surgery. It is possible to tape the glasses to the forehead until the nose heals. Outside, 30-factor sunscreen should be used, especially on the nose. Too much sun during this period can cause permanent color degradation of the nasal skin.
Rhinoplasty may be followed by a temporary swelling of the eyelids or a black-and-blue color change for two to three weeks. Nose swelling can take even longer to land.
Avoiding sodium during feeding will help the swelling to land faster. Objects such as ice or ice packs should not be put on the nose after surgery. It would be best to take a week off from work, school or similar obligations for postoperative surgery.
